Alana Raquel Bowers is a Baltimore-bred, New York City-based actor, dancer, singer, and activist. She is a passionate artist whose life goal is to inspire those who have a dream and to use her own dream to change the world for the better.
Alana is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Drama and a double minor in Sociology and Africana Studies. She graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts in Baltimore, MD in 2012.
Alana has performed and trained around the world. Her dance talents have taken her across the country and her acting credits span across many parts of both the US and the UK.
Expanding her talents beyond the spotlight, Alana is very familiar with being behind the camera as well. She co-directed and shot an original documentary entitled Ritmos Del Alma Española while living and studying in Madrid, Spain in 2015. In 2017, Alana assistant directed Tisch School of the Arts' production of "The Colored Museum" by George C. Wolfe under the direction of Kent Gash and Byron Easley. This was her stage directorial debut. Alana also produced and directed an independent project entitled STILL SCREAMING, a social justice music video that brings the voices and emotions of different types of people together to comment on police brutality and gang violence. She plans to continue and expand "STILL SCREAMING" into a full series.
With a knack for social justice and a desire for equality for all, Alana continues to use her artistic talents to challenge societal norms and break boundaries to see a better tomorrow.
